When you are using laptop/notebook while being away from home/office and cannot find power switch to recharge the battery, you should manage the battery life to fit your requirement. To do so just click on the battery icon on taskbars quite near to the clock (see picture above) and select appropriate option.
Ex: You just needs to view simple documents like Ms-word/Ms-Excel, you can select Minimal Power Management. This will enable the battery life to last longer than Max battery or Always on. Or You can select Presentation if you are using your laptop for presentation.
Otherwise, if you require the best performance for your graphic design application you can choose Always on to benefit the fastest speed of your laptop.
You can enable/disable some other feature depends on your demand. i.e. You might need to turn off your wireless network/bluetooth while you are not using Wifi nor connect to mobile phone via bluetooth.
